The royal game of Ur is an exciting old world strategy/racing game. We find the game well-balanced: it keeps players engaged throughout the play and leaves them with the sense of fairness, which is hard to come by nowadays :)

In short, the goal is two bring all of your seven pieces home before your opponent does. You both take turns tossing 4 pass/fail dice. There are plenty of versions of the rules, so it is always fun to experiment and keep things interesting. For brief rules, please click here.

This design of the game board features intricate carvings and handy pockets to store your game pieces during the game or after. Our royal game of Ur boards are made of carefully selected locally-sourced solid walnut / maple / cherry hardwood and finished with environmentally friendly waterborne finish.

Dimensions of the board: minimum 6” W, 15” L, min 3/4” H.

Included with each board:

• two sets of 7 game pieces made of solid maple

• 4 D6 dice with pass/fail - 50/50 markings

• black velvet pouch for game pieces
